Musician Bret Michaels, best known as the frontman of the band Poison, recently announced that he will cancel all upcoming shows until further notice. Michaels expressed his sadness at the news and responded online, updating everyone on his condition and recovery timeline.

The musician had recently undergone kidney stone surgery and has been on the road to recovery. However, shortly after his concert at The Bowl at Sugar Hill, medical professionals determined that he is no longer fit enough to perform and will need some time and space to recover.In an official Facebook post on his account, Michael’s representatives posted and confirmed that after much contemplation and on the advice of his doctors, the veteran singer will not be able to return to the big stage for some time. The statement read: “Bret will take the next few months off to heal and get back to 100 percent.”The post further stated, “Bret’s doctors, Dr. Abby Borhan and Dr. Patel, stated, ‘We will be taking Bret off the road for the time being. He wanted to try this show, but we believe he is in for a much-needed period of rest and a slow recovery, especially considering the heat and humidity during the summer months and the effect it can have on his blood sugar levels.'”Last month, the singer underwent surgery and performed at his first show after the medical procedure in Georgia. The post concluded with an apology to everyone hoping to see Bret Michaels perform on stage, confirming that all future shows have been canceled for the time being. The post adds: “Our sincere apologies from Michaels Entertainment Group as we were really looking forward to the rest of this year’s shows, including The Mountain Music Festival, private events, and all the big shows coming up. Now we hope that Bret can return healthy, strong and ready to rock.
