Sandra Bullock supported Bryan Randall every step of the way after he received his ALS diagnosis. Three years after her death, the actress has spoken about her life and how they overcame all the challenges, including taking care of their children. Recalling that moment, Bullock candidly shared details about how his children handled the news and supported their father in their own ways.

Randall was diagnosed with ALS around 2020, and although his family knew about the disease, at the time he made everyone promise to keep his diagnosis a secret for as long as possible. While appearing on the latest episode of the ‘Smartless’ podcast, the ‘Practical Magic 2’ star revealed that her children, Louis and Laila, were very aware of what was going on.She shared that they were “Oh, completely aware. Absolutely aware, because eventually, once you’re bedridden, we all have to go there. It was at my house, and I did my best to prepare everything I could, and I’m lucky that I have the means to pay for it.” He provided more context and commented on how his children watched everything and were “very astute.”“They could see. They have eyes. And they are very, very clever kids,” Bullock added. “Very astute because they not only see the physical change, [but] “There is a behavior that changes in all of us,” he added. Bullock also shared that her children had comparatively different reactions to Randall’s diagnosis. She shared that two years before her partner died, her son, Louis, decided to disconnect from the situation. He also revealed that he would talk openly about the situation with his children and how they wanted to do everything. “He saw that it was a dynamic that wasn’t healthy for him. So he’s very evolved. He’s like, ‘You know what? I’m here to help you.'” I didn’t want him to become the man of the family at that age. my work [was] be both things at that moment.”As for her daughter, she shared that Laila had no problem spending time and getting to know Randall until “about 6 months later,” when she honestly told her mother about the situation. Bullock added: “And then she says, ‘Can you say no when they call me to visit?’ And I said, ‘Absolutely.’ And I said, ‘But if you want to visit, I’ll go with you and I’ll be there.’ And if you tap, I’m there.‘”The ‘Ocean’s 13’ actress shared that she respected her children’s wishes to stay away and used different parts of the house for everything.
