‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ Box Office Collection: Yash’s Film Crosses Rs 40 Crore Ahead of Release, Follows ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ in Advance Sales |

Yash once again focuses attention on the box office. After the great success of ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, the actor stayed away from the big screen for years, making his return with ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Adults’ one of the most anticipated releases of 2026. With the film set to hit theaters on August 26, its pre-order trend has already given fans a reason to celebrate.

Yash’s film enters the million ticket club

According to Sacnilk, ‘Toxic’ has crossed the 1 million (10 lakh) ticket mark in advance bookings on BookMyShow, making it the second Kannada film to reach that figure after Yash’s own ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. The previous film reportedly sold around 29 lakh tickets on the platform before its release. What makes ‘Toxic”s achievement more notable is that it is a stand-alone film and doesn’t have the benefit of an established franchise. Strong pre-sales indicate that Yash’s popularity alone is driving audiences towards theatres.

‘Toxic’ Advance Box Office Sales Show Strong Momentum

Booking numbers have remained strong all week. ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ recorded around 3.46 lakh ticket sales on August 21, followed by 1.75 lakh on August 22 and 1.60 lakh on August 23. The momentum picked up again on August 24, when nearly 2.28 lakh tickets were sold on BookMyShow. The film is also on track to reach a peak hourly booking rate of around 46,000 tickets, according to Sacnilk, indicating strong demand ahead of its release. Overall, the pre-booking trend suggests that the film could be heading for a strong opening in several markets.

‘Toxic’ advance booking crosses Rs 40 crore, including blocked seats

The latest update on the film’s pre-bookings shows that it has sold 8,94,629 tickets across India, with a confirmed gross collection of approximately Rs 31.89 crore. Including blocked seats, the figure rises to around 41.03 crore, across over 17,000 shows.Hindi has contributed around 16.4 crore, while Kannada accounts for nearly 14 crore. Tamil has clocked in around Rs 1.15 lakh, while Malayalam and Telugu have contributed around Rs 34 lakh and Rs 28 lakh, respectively. The numbers point to a big opening for Yash, with the film now entering the final stretch before its theatrical release.

Yash returns to theaters after ‘KGF: Chapter 2’

‘Toxic’ is also being closely watched as it marks Yash’s first release after ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth opposite Yash. With advance bookings already crossing the 10 lakh mark, the big question now is whether ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ can turn its impressive pre-release buzz into a blockbuster at the box office.DISCLAIMER: Box office figures and data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
