Orry says Sara Ali Khan’s mother Amrita Singh ‘put me through hell’, decides not to reveal what happened: ‘Bad things happen to bad people’ |
Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, opened up about a difficult chapter from his past and recalled what he described as a deeply traumatic experience in 2021 involving Sara Ali Khan’s mother and veteran actress Amrita Singh. In a recent interview, Orry said the episode became one of the darkest periods of his life and ultimately made him more resilient.
Orry talks about a difficult period
During a conversation with Pinkvilla, Orry was asked about a challenging period that taught him mental strength. Remembering 2021, he said, “In 2021, Amrita Ali Khan traumatized me. It was a lot. It was a little, I thought a little, I don’t think I’ve ever been through something like this.”Describing the impact the experience had on him, Orry said: “It was a very dark time in my life, like she really put me through hell.”
“Nothing really makes me sad”
Orry recalled how those close to him encouraged him to see the difficult experience as something that would eventually make him stronger.
However, at the time he said he didn’t understand why he needed to develop that level of resilience.“When I moved out and got out of this, people were like, ‘You’re going to come out of this stronger.’ I was like, ‘I don’t need that much strength.’ Like who needs that much strength in their life,” she said.Looking back, Orry said she finally understood the impact the experience had on her emotional resilience. “Then I realized that nothing really affects me anymore. Nothing really makes me sad,” he added.
Orry says the experience helped him deal with criticism
Orry further explained that what happened in 2021 prepared him for the scrutiny that followed once he became a public figure. He said the criticism and hate he initially received didn’t affect him as much because of the resilience he had developed.“I think the trauma that I went through then made me strong enough that when I became a public figure, the amount of hate that I used to feel initially never affected me,” Orry said.He added that although people called him names, he was able to deal with the comments without allowing them to affect him emotionally.When asked to explain what exactly happened between him and Amrita Singh, Orry chose not to reveal details. He just said, “Honestly, bad things happen to bad people. I’ll leave it at that.”
Orry has previously made several social media posts that appeared to criticize Sara Ali Khan. His posts have reportedly included references to Sara, Palak Tiwari and Amrita Singh, and some of his comments have attracted attention online.In one case, Orry shared a video asking, “What are the worst names I know?” The next frame showed the names Amrita, Sara and Palak, apparently referring to Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Palak Tiwari.Orry’s social media activity has reportedly been a source of tension with Sara. He also reportedly posted unflattering photos of the actor while wishing her birthday in August last year, which she allegedly did not appreciate.According to industry rumors, Sara’s brother Ibrahim Ali Khan.
