Nora Fatehi has been embroiled in a legal dispute with an aviation company over her comments about a chartered plane. Dunes Aviation has filed a Rs 3 crore civil defamation suit against the Bollywood actress, accusing her of making “derogatory and reckless” comments about one of its aircraft on social media. The matter will come up before senior civil judge R Agarwal in a Gandhinagar court on September 25.According to PTI, the dispute arises from videos that Nora allegedly recorded inside a Cessna Citation CJ2 while traveling from Mumbai to Jaipur in December last year. According to the company, his statements caused a 15-20 percent decrease in bookings and an increase in cancellations, causing financial losses and damage to its good reputation.In its lawsuit, filed in April, the aviation company alleged that Nora’s comments were “reckless, irresponsible and made without any technical knowledge, verification or factual basis.” He further argued that the actress, who has more than 4.6 million followers on Instagram, had caused “serious reputational damage, loss of goodwill and adverse commercial impact” through her posts.The company has also sought to counter Nora’s comments about the plane’s suitability and safety. Dunes Aviation maintained that the Cessna Citation CJ2 was appropriately sized for the journey and that the aircraft was fully certified by the DGCA, airworthy and legally operated under a valid NSOP.Apart from seeking damages of Rs 3 million, Dunes Aviation has asked the court to order the immediate removal of social media posts and other content containing the disputed statements or references to the aircraft.
