Simple Energy exceeds 10,000 annual sales for the first time – Introduction

Simple Energy, which has been regularly in the monthly top 10 2W electric OEM list since February 2026 with its Simple One high-performance EV scooter, has recorded cumulative sales of more than 10,000 units in the first eight months of this year. According to Vahan, between January and August 2026, the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup recorded deliveries of 10,429 units, up 203 per cent compared to last year’s 3,436 units for the same period. This push comes just as Simple launched its most affordable scooter yet, Wave, priced at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and its entry into the family scooter segment.

  1. Wave makes brand more affordable with lower ex-showroom price of Rs 1.10 lakh
  2. The brand has consistently averaged ninth place among the top nine electric vehicle sellers in India since February 2026.

Wave is expected to be Simple’s sales leader

The family electric scooter is based on the One, but it is more practical

With Wave, Simple Energy hopes to make a splash in the family electric scooter segment, which has been dominated by TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida for the last few years. Add Ather Rizta with its ever-growing sales and also the new Konarc to that list of rivals. Compared to the more performance-based One, the Wave targets a much broader customer with its S 2.2 base variant pricing (Rs 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom) and also with the focus on everyday practicality, ride comfort and usability across different passenger demographics.

The scooter has four variants depending on the battery capacity. The base Wave S is offered with two battery capacities: 2.2 kWh (IDC range 110 km) and 2.7 kWh (IDC range 132 km). While the middle variant, Wave, has a 3.7 kWh battery and 171 km of IDC range, and the top variant Wave+ has a 5 kWh battery and an IDC range of 243 km, the highest in its segment. Simple has announced that deliveries will begin on September 25.

Production capacity and showrooms are increased.

The increased presence is expected to improve the brand’s sales.

Along with the launch of Wave and expected market demand, the company says it is expanding its manufacturing and retail footprint. Currently, the company has a production capacity of 3,000 units per month and has more than 75 outlets across 63 cities in India including Bengaluru, Delhi, Patna, Nagpur, Bhopal, Agra, Goa, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Kochi and Chennai.

For Simple, whose highest monthly retail sales occurred in March 2026 (1,780 units), the new Wave gives it the opportunity to target the e-2W’s best-selling subcategory: the family scooter. Simple ranked 13th in fiscal 2025 sales and entered the top 10 for the first time in February 2026 and has consistently averaged ninth position since then. The brand has sold a total of 18,556 units since sales began in 2023. It remains to be seen if the Wave turns out to be the much-needed boost for the brand to climb higher on that list.
