One musician who has been surpassed several times in just the last few years is Whitney Houston, who, even more than a decade after her passing, remains on the list of musicians with the most number one songs.
All of Houston’s Billboard Hot 100 hits were recently brought together on a new compilation titled WH1TNEY. The title plays on the late superstar’s name by changing the letter I to the number one, and the new hits project becomes a quick win in multiple Billboard lists in the United States this week.

WH1TNEY debuts in three Billboard this week’s rankings. The compilation is released on the Top R&B Albums and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts and Billboard 200 at numbers 20, 44, and 148, respectively.
Whitney Houston returns to the R&B charts
WH1TNEY It gives Houston just her fourth appearance on the Top R&B Albums chart, despite her legacy as an R&B powerhouse. The compilation gives the late singer her first chart debut in just under a decade. On the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list, another collection claims the distinction of being Houston’s lowest-peaking release. VH1 Divas Live/99 – which is credited not only to Houston, but also to Cher, Tina Turner and Brandy – debuted at number 78 more than a quarter of a century ago. That position no longer exists, as Billboard He has since shortened the list to 50 spots.
WH1TNEY It is one of only two Houston releases not to rank in the top 10 on the Top R&B Albums chart. It is also one of only three of his 15 appearances on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart to fail to reach the top tier for even a week.
