Davis Cup: Arthur Fery named in Great Britain squad with Jack Draper absent | tennis news

Arthur Fery has been named in Great Britain’s Davis Cup squad for their home tie against Ecuador next month.
The 24-year-old, who memorably reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon this summer, is joined by Cameron Norrie and doubles players Henry Patten and Lloyd Glasspool.
Fery participated in Great Britain’s Davis Cup play-off against Poland in September 2025, beating Olaf Pieczkowski in straight sets to help seal progress to the 2026 Qualifiers.
A fifth place finish remains up for grabs, which could go to Jack Draper if the former world number 4 can return to fitness after an injury-ravaged year.
Captain Leon Smith said: “We know Ecuador will be up for the challenge, so being able to count on our two best singles players and two of the best doubles players in the world, all of whom have performed well in recent weeks, gives us a great chance of securing victory.”
The tie will take place at London’s Copper Box on September 19 and 20, with the winners progressing to the final eight in November.
